Message from SOFKIN...

“ He who wishes to secure the good of others, has already secured his own.”      ~ Confucius

Kindness is one of those things that can never go wrong. When you are kind, not only is the other person benefited but so are you. It gives you a  special satisfaction. On the inside you feel pleased because you helped someone else.

Being kind is extremely important, especially in today’s world where everything seems to revolve around individuals. We tend to forget the less fortunate. We have so much in front of us, but we want more. What if we gave some of what we have to others? That is kindness... We must always look to help others because by helping others, we help ourselves. We have two hands. One for  helping ourselves and one for helping others.                            ~ By Anusha Pamula

Launch & Fundraiser Recap...

On the 29th of January 2005, SOFKIN was officially launched at a grand event held in the South Brunswick Senior Citizens’ Center. Needless to say, the event was a great success. The beautiful dances lit up the stage and the motivational speeches and the generous donations were the highlights of the show. Thanks to the event sponsors, Mutex Systems, Vedic Soft & Udipi restaurant who made it all possible!  New Jersey Assembly members Mr. Upendra Chivukula  and Ms. Linda Grenstein graced the show with their presence  who promised to extend their support .  The event was broadcast on TV Asia and American Desi TV channels.

We would like to thank all the participants of the performances and the choreographers of the dances. They were phenomenal! We would also like to thank Master Nick who gave a very inspirational speech which motivated everyone. Thanks to all who made generous contributions (it meant a great deal to us) and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event such a huge success. SOFKIN was able to raise more funds than anticipated  and was able  to address both the projects that were selected. But it could not have been done without the massive support we received from all who attended; we owe it all to you.

Thanks for being so generous and we wish you a wonderful Spring & Summer!
