HOME PROCEDURES / WORK INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The residents of Dwarakamayi will abide by all rules and regulations of SOFKIN institution.
  2. Daily attendance of the inmates has to be maintained in the attendance register.
  3. Children school progress report register to be maintained by the Housemother/Warden.
  4. No personal calls are entertained from the SOFKIN home/office phone.
  5. Children have to follow the daily activities as per the defined schedule.
  6. Housemother is allowed to take the day off (8 hours) on every second Saturday of the month from 9 am to 5pm. The substitute mother or warden will fill the responsibilities of housemother during her absence.
  7. Warden is allowed to take one vacation day on third Saturday of every month.
  8. Housemother & Warden are eligible for holidays as per the schedule below, when children are sent to their parental homes.
  9. Children will be sent home and SOFKIN home will be closed as per the schedule below:
    1. Summer Vacation : 2 weeks
    2. Dasera holidays : 1 week
    3. Christmas holidays : 1 week
  10. House mother must cook as per the menu schedule defined by the management.
  11. Parents visits must be entered into the register by the warden
  12. House mother has to drop and pick up children from school
  13. House mother has to check children’s school bags, uniform, tidiness etc. before taking the children to the school and after bring back children from school.
  14. Housemother must mark all clothes and other items with children names, must organize and mark clothes to be worn for various occasions.
  15. Children’s medical records must be maintained by housemother/warden
  16. Payment must be made by checks where possible, every expense requires a bill/receipt or a voucher duly signed by the receiver and payee. All bills/receipts/vouchers must be filed.
  17. All expenses must be entered in the expense register with the corresponding voucher/bill/receipt number.
  18. Donations (cash/check/item) received must be entered into the donations register along with the donor’s address and contact details. A receipt & thank you letter must be issued to the donor either immediately or mailed within next one week. If the donation is an item, the item must be entered either in the inventory register or stores register.
  19. Children’s beds must be dried outside in the sun every Friday afternoon. The mattress should be protected with a plastic sheet for younger children who have not developed good toiletry habits.
  20. It is house mother’s responsibility to maintain the family atmosphere/bonding filled with love and affection and must strive for children’s development and happiness, must encourage open communication and train children with good habits.
  21. No individual has the right to beat or abuse children; he/she will be subjected to sever action against such offenses. Extreme patience and due diligence is needed in dealing with children.
